UNILAG’s Prof. Njideka Okubadejo to Deliver Keynote Lecture at DFG Forum in Germany, Sept. 23

The University of Lagos will be proudly represented at the upcoming German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG)’s “Forum: Connect & Exchange” as Prof. Njideka Okubadejo (Professor of Neurology and Director, Centre for Neurological Sciences Research and Training, College of Medicine, UNILAG) co-presents the keynote lecture with Prof. (Dr.) Christine Klein (Schilling Professor of Neurogenetics and Neurology, and Director of the Institute of Neurogenetics, University of Lübeck, Germany).

The keynote lecture, titled GP2 in Africa: Global Science, Local Impact – Findings and Future Directions in Parkinson’s Genomics and Capacity Building, will be delivered on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the DFG Head Office, Norbert-Elias-Saal, Bonn, Germany.

It will spotlight their joint work within the Global Parkinson’s Genetics Programme (GP2), with particular focus on advancing neuroscience research and strengthening capacity in Africa.

Forum: Connect & Exchange is part of DFG’s I2I (Initiative for a 2-stage Initiation of International Collaboration) in the Neurosciences, with Africa as a key focus region.

The DFG is Germany’s largest research funding body, supporting knowledge-driven projects across the sciences and humanities. Its mission is to foster international collaboration, drive sustainable progress, and promote research excellence.
