The University of Lagos is proud to host Dr. Mathew Swerdloff, a Fulbright Specialist from the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz, USA, for a one-month academic engagement aimed at advancing teaching excellence and pedagogical innovation.
During his residency, Dr. Swerdloff will facilitate a series of interactive workshops for selected academic staff across all faculties, focusing on four key themes:
- Pedagogical Strategies for Excellence in Teaching: Exploring diverse instructional approaches to meet the needs of varied learners and achieve specific educational goals.
- Fostering Student Engagement: Building vibrant, collaborative classroom cultures using practical tools that enhance student participation and academic success.
- Curriculum Development Strategies: Guiding participants on effective curriculum review cycles and design processes that are standards-aligned and student-centered.
- Integrating Instructional Technology: Demonstrating the use of accessible digital tools to support collaboration and engagement through smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
The workshop series, scheduled to run from Monday, October 27 to Thursday, November 6, 2025, reflects UNILAG’s sustained commitment to capacity building, global partnerships, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
