The University of Lagos (UNILAG) contingent has arrived Jos, Plateau State, with high hopes and determination to make a resounding impact at the 27th Nigerian University Games (NUGA), scheduled for Thursday, November 6 – Sunday, November 16, 2025.
As proud host of the 26th edition in 2022, UNILAG’s 90-member contingent, comprising athletes, coaches, and officials, is geared to showcase excellence, discipline, and sportsmanship.


The team will compete in ten (10) sporting disciplines: Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Football (Female), Judo, Karate, Table Tennis, Tennis, Scrabble, and Taekwondo. The contingent departed Lagos in two batches on Wednesday, November 5, and Thursday, November 6, 2025, with athletes brimming with confidence to bring home laurels.

“UNILAG has always been a powerhouse in university sports. We are confident our athletes will once again do us proud,” said Prof. Alabi Soneye, Chairman of UNILAG Sports Council. He praised the team’s dedication and urged them to uphold the University’s values of integrity, teamwork, and perseverance.
The NUGA 2025 kicks off with an opening ceremony on November 8, 2025, at the University of Jos, Plateau State.
