The Department of Zoology, University of Lagos (UNILAG) will host a Lying-In-State Programme for retired Professor William Ose Odiete, as part of his funeral ceremony following his demise on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the age of 86.
The event will hold as follows:

Venue: Faculty of Science Foyer, UNILAG Main Campus, Akoka, Lagos.
Following the lying in state is a Commendation /Requiem Mass at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, UNILAG Akoka Campus at *12 noon prompt*.
Born on July 6, 1939, Professor William Ose Odiete joined the services of the University of Lagos as Lecturer II in 1969. He had a successful career in the Department of Zoology, UNILAG until his retirement in July, 2005.
