UNILAG 56th Convocation Ceremonies: Faculties Host Hooding Ceremony For Graduating Students

As part of activities marking the 56th Convocation Ceremonies of the University of Lagos, various faculties rolled out the drums on Tuesday, January 19, 2026 to celebrate their graduating students via the Hooding Ceremony.

The hooding ceremony is a significant academic tradition where a faculty advisor or mentor places the hood on the graduate, marking their transition from student to scholar. This intimate event celebrates scholarly achievement, with the hood’s colour representing the graduate’s field of study.

Below is a pictorial highlight of the ceremony captured at the Faculties of Architecture, Communication and Media Studies, Computing and Informatics, Education, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Law, Life Sciences Physical and Earth Science, and Social Sciences:
