The Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos, came alive on Saturday, February 14, 2026, as the Chairman and Founder of the DSE Foundation, Chief Tunde Fanimokun, officially launched the “Light Up” Project, an intervention designed to enhance infrastructure and improve the learning environment within the Faculty.
The initiative, which centers on upgrading the Faculty’s lighting infrastructure, reflects the Foundation’s broader commitment to youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, healthcare services, and education.

Speaking at the event, Chief Fanimokun expressed his delight at being part of a project that strengthens educational development at one of Nigeria’s foremost institutions. He affirmed that funds for the project would be made available imminently, signalling the Foundation’s readiness to translate commitment into action.
Beyond the Light Up Project, Chief Fanimokun reiterated his continued philanthropic interest in supporting key development initiatives within the University. These include contributions toward the School of Postgraduate Studies Building, proposed high-rise residential buildings for staff members, and endowment support for the University of Lagos Alumni Association.

Aaron Akinloye, PhD, Special Assistant to Chief Tunde Fanimokun, noted that the Foundation remains a quiet but consistent partner in institutional growth, preferring impact over publicity as it advances projects that strengthen educational excellence.
