Brains, wit, and rhetorical firepower were on full display as the Distance Learning Institute Students’ Association (DLISA) of the University of Lagos brought The Exploit 1.0 debate competition to a spectacular climax on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
The much-anticipated grand finale pitted Business Administration students against their Accounting counterparts in a spirited intellectual contest over the motion: “Is a university degree still relevant in today’s fast-paced and skill-driven economy?”

Both teams came prepared, delivering sharp, thought-provoking arguments that had the audience on the edge of their seats. But it was the Accounting students, speaking against the motion, who ultimately swayed the judges and emerged winners of the keenly contested debate.
The event drew participation from students across all DLI programmes and served as a vibrant celebration of intellectual prowess, critical thinking, and articulate expression.

More than a competition, The Exploit 1.0 was a showcase of the immense potential and talent within the DLI student community.

DLISA’s leadership lauded all participants for their stellar performances and reaffirmed its commitment to creating platforms that challenge, inspire, and empower students.
