Applications Open for Lagos State Government Professorial Chair in Tax and Fiscal Matters, University of Lagos

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the Lagos State Government Professorial Chair in Tax and Fiscal Matters.

A. ROLE DESCRIPTION

The occupier of the Lagos State Government Professorial Chair in Tax and Fiscal Matters will be expected to:

  • Teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Taxation and Fiscal Matters.
  • Deliver a Public Lecture in Taxation and Fiscal Matters to stimulate and enhance Industry/Academia cooperation through the use of research findings in Taxation and Fiscal Matters.
  • Conduct research in specialized areas of Taxation and Fiscal Matters

B. MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic excellence and intellectual merit in the field of Taxation and Fiscal Matters Specifically, candidates must have:

  • A good first degree in a relevant field and a Ph.D. in Law (Specialisation in Taxation and Fiscal Matters).
  • Must be a full Professor with proven integrity, appreciable evidence of scholarly publication in reputable journals and international journals
  • An impeccable record of teaching and continuing research in Taxation and Fiscal Matters.
  • Administrative and academic leadership skills as well as communication and interpersonal skills. He or she must be of proven integrity
  • Appreciable evidence of scholarly publications   in reputable national and international journals.
  • Evidence of ability to supervise Master’s and Doctoral students.

The successful applicant on being appointed would be addressed as the Chair occupier of the Lagos State Government Professorial Chair in Tax and Fiscal Matters

C. REMUNERATION

The appointment attracts an enhanced salary package (CONUASS 7/10 CATA included and the following allowances:

  • Official Vehicle and Driver
  • Accommodation
  • Conference Grant

D. TENURE: The appointment to the Professorial Chair shall be for a period of one (1) year only.

E. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE: As contained in the UNILAG Conditions of Service for Senior Staff.

  • Full name
  • Place and date of birth
  • Contact details (home address, postal address, email, and telephone)
  • Nationality and marital status (including number and ages of children)
  • Academic and professional qualifications (with dates and institutions)
  • Details of academic positions held
  • List of publications
  • Other relevant professional activities
  • Names and contact details of three referees
  • Proposed date of availability, if appointed
