Applications are now open for the 2025 UNESCO/Kingdoms Institute: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia–AIUIa Fellowships Programme, a prestigious global initiative advancing research, conservation, and management in the field of heritage studies.
The 24-month fellowship will run from March 2026 to May 2028 and targets outstanding early-to mid-career researchers and professionals.
The programme is open to candidates specialising in Culture, Heritage Management, Architecture, Urban Planning/Development, Archaeology, Conservation, Museum Management, Cultural Policies, Anthropology, Art History, Arts Management, Creative Industries, International Relations, and Social and Human Sciences.
Applicants must:
- Hold at least a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in the relevant fields, or a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience.
- Be between the ages of 25 and 40.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English (knowledge of other UNESCO official languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish will be an added advantage).
- Submit all required application documents before the deadline.

The required application package includes:
- Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages).
- Certified copy of highest diploma/degree.
- Completed Application Form (Annex 4).
- Motivation Letter (1 page).
- Proposal Form (Annex 5, maximum 3 pages, PDF format).
- A 2-minute self-introduction video in English (MP4, under 50 MB).
- Copy of valid passport (expiry date after July 31, 2026).
The Royal Commission for AIUIa (RCU) and UNESCO will jointly assess, interview, and select the most qualified candidates.
