The Board of Trustees of Professor Ayo Ogunye Professorial Chair in Chemical Engineering, University of Lagos hereby invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Prof. Ayo Ogunye Professorial Chair in Chemical Engineering.
A. DESCRIPTION
The person that will occupy the Ogunye’s Professorial Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering, shall be expected to teach and supervise existing or newly designed courses, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in the Department of Chemical Engineering. He/ She will be expected to carry out research in any specialized field of Chemical Engineering.
The Occupant of the Chair shall organize Research Seminars in Chemical Engineering from time to time, to stimulate and enhance Research findings in the field of Chemical Engineering. Apart from the regular Seminars, the occupant of the Ogunye’s Chair in Chemical Engineering must hold a special Annual Lecture. He/ she must also deliver a Special Terminal Public Lecture on his/her accomplishments, at the end of the tenure of the appointment.
B. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- A good first degree and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
 - Must have had extensive teaching and research experience following his/her appointment as a Lecturer in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
 - Must have been a professor for at least ten years and meet the University of Lagos criteria for Professorship.
 - There must be proof of Continuing Research in Chemical Engineering.
 - There must be appreciable evidence of scholarly publications in reputable national and international Journals.
 - Evidence of ability to supervise Masters and Doctoral Students must be provided.
 - Ability to provide academic leadership.
 - Must have sufficient administrative experience.
 - Must possess appreciable information technology skills
 - Must be of proven integrity
 - Must not be more than 67 years at the point of appointment.
 
C. REMUNERATION
An enhanced basic salary package (i.e. CONUASS 7 plus 20% mark-up). Other perquisites include:

 - Local transport and travelling Allowance
 - Books and Periodicals
 - Housing allowance
 - Conferences/ Lectures Allowance
 
D. TENURE
The Chair has a tenure of three (3) years.
