The new Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Learning Hub, University of Lagos (UNILAG) will be commissioned on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Donated by the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics and Research) of the University, Professor Bolanle O. Oboh, the hub has the following objectives:
- To provide a state-of-the-art facility that enables researchers to compete on a global scale;
- To serve as a learning hub in bioinformatics and computational biology;
- To foster collaborative research in allied biological fields; and
- To enable continuous technical adaptation to the reality of the global village
The world-class centre is for practical learning, research, mentorship, and collaborative opportunities. It will enable researchers and students transform biological data into scientific and innovative solutions for biologically related challenges, effectively and efficiently.
