DESCRIPTION:The Department of Interior Architecture and Design\, Faculty of Architecture\, University of Lagos (UNILAG) will host the 2026 Southern Urbanism Conference (Southern Urbanism Co-Net 2026) from Monday\, August 24\, 2026 to Tuesday\, August 25\, 2026 at the Arthur Mbanefo Digital Research Centre (AMDRC)\, UNILAG. \n\n\n\nThe conference is expected to bring together faculty members\, industry professionals\, policymakers\, development practitioners\, architects\, community leaders\, researchers and students from diverse regions of Africa\, Europe and Asia to engage in critical conversations on contemporary rural-urban transitions and emerging spatial challenges. \n\n\n\nAhead of the Southern Urbanism Co-Net 2026\, the Department will also host a Students’ Workshop and Exhibition from Monday\, August 17 to Saturday\, August 22\, 2026. The event will showcase students’ innovative projects\, ideas\, and solutions addressing contemporary urban and spatial challenges. \n\n\n\nMembers of the University community are cordially invited to participate in the conference\, workshop\, and exhibition.

DESCRIPTION:The new Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Learning Hub\, University of Lagos (UNILAG) will be commissioned on Tuesday\, August 25\, 2026. \nDonated by the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics and Research) of the University\, Professor Bolanle O. Oboh\, the hub has the following objectives: \n\nTo provide a state-of-the-art facility that enables researchers to compete on a global scale;\nTo serve as a learning hub in bioinformatics and computational biology;\nTo foster collaborative research in allied biological fields; and\nTo enable continuous technical adaptation to the reality of the global village\n\nThe world-class centre is for practical learning\, research\, mentorship\, and collaborative opportunities. It will enable researchers and students transform biological data into scientific and innovative solutions for biologically related challenges\, effectively and efficiently.
