The ongoing Registry Week celebration of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) entered Day 2 on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, with a line-up of different activities.

Seminar on Financial Literacy
The day began with a seminar on Financial Literacy which was held at the Senate Chamber of the UNILAG Senate House.
The seminar, according to the Registrar and Host, Mrs Victoria Wickliffe, is aimed at exposing members of staff to requisite knowledge to make better financial decisions especially for their future.

Welcoming participants to the seminar, Mrs. Wickliffe appreciated every member of the staff of the UNILAG Registry for the demonstration of excellence, solidarity and professionalism not just at their duty posts but also since the celebration began. This feat, she noted, underscored the deep sense of unity and purpose which the UNILAG Registry epitomizes.
In his presentation, the Guest Speaker, Mr Oluremi Tinuolu-Gabriel (Director, Retail and Digital Financial Services, United Capital PLC) harped on the need for fiscal discipline and consistency in savings.

He warned against unhealthy financial practices such as procrastination, frivolous and un-budgeted spending, needless acquisitions, among other practices which could sabotage a secured financial future. Mr Tinuolu-Gabriel advocated prudent and careful investments, and also shared a few investment tips which the Registry Staff can take advantage of.
The event was graced by the University Bursar, Mrs Oluwafunmilola Adekunle. She commended the UNILAG Registry Week initiative and congratulated the rank and file of the UNILAG Registry led by the Registrar, Mrs Victoria Wickliffe on a colourful debut outing.

Medical Outreach
Immediately after the seminar, action shifted to the UNILAG Sports Complex where a comprehensive medical outreach was held.
The exercise was non-discriminatory as beneficiaries include registry and non-registry staff of UNILAG.

The University Registrar, Mrs Victoria Wickliffe flagged off the exercise with her physical participation.
The medical outreach offered vital checks and examination, oral health talks, distribution of oral care products as well as medical consultation all at no cost.
Games Day
The main bowl of the UNILAG Sports Complex was also a place to be for several hours with different recreational activities ranging from dance competitions, to different board games, track races and a friendly football match.
Participants had a swell time unwinding, bonding and merrymaking as they participated in different activities, and won various gift items and souvenirs. Winners of various sporting events were also given medals, in the spirit of the maiden UNILAG Registry Week celebration.

The Maiden UNILAG Registry Week Celebration will climax on Thursday, November 6, 2025, with a Public lecture titled: “Excellence in University Administration, the Imperatives of Professionalism and Digital Literacy”, at the Nurudeen Alao Auditorium, DLI, UNILAG.
