The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has confirmed that the recent suspected cases of Ebola in Abuja tested negative, hence there is no confirmed Ebola outbreak in Nigeria at this time.
This advisory however serves as a reminder to every member of the UNILAG campus community to reinforce infection prevention practices as indicated below:
- Wash hands regularly with soap and water or use alcohol-based sanitizer.
- Cover mouth/nose when coughing or sneezing; dispose tissues properly.
- Seek care promptly if you or others develop sudden fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or unexplained bleeding.
- Keep communal spaces clean; avoid overcrowding.
- Rely only on official updates from UNILAG Medical Centre and NCDC.
The University Medical Centre is on alert and working with health authorities to safeguard our campus. Staff are trained and prepared to respond swiftly if needed. Together, through vigilance and cooperation, we can keep UNILAG safe.
