Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Adelaja O. Odukoya has been honoured with the prestigious Distinguished Fellow Award of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP).
The prestigious award was conferred during the Society’s investiture ceremony on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the University of Ibadan, Oyo State. The event also marked the opening of the 19th Conference and General Assembly of the SPSP.
The Society for Peace Studies and Practice is a prominent pan-African professional body that unites peace scholars and practitioners across the continent. It is devoted to promoting dialogue, collaboration, and research aimed at achieving sustainable peace and development in Africa.
In addition to this recognition, Professor Odukoya has also been elected Member/Editor of the Executive Board of the Social Science Academy of Nigeria (SSAN).
His election took place during the Academy’s General Assembly, held from November 27–29, 2025, in Abuja.
