The University of Lagos (UNILAG) played host to the Implementation Monitoring Committee (IMC) for the National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (NEEDS) Assessment Intervention Fund on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services) of UNILAG, Professor ‘Muyiwa Falaiye, received the Committee which was led by Comrade (Hon.) Ibeji Nwokoma, National President of the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT).
He intimated the guests on the University’s activities in recent times, and efforts made to access and execute projects under the NEEDS Assessment Intervention Fund.
Affirming the University of Lagos’ dedication to following due process in its endeavours, Professor Falaiye reassured the Committee of the University’s commitment to the adequate utilisation of accessible funds.
The NEEDS IMC’s visit, which entailed a meeting with the University management; University Budget Implementation Monitoring Committee (BIMC); inspection of NEEDS Assessment Projects in the University; evaluation and monitoring of utilisation of funds disbursed for the 2021 NEEDS Assessment Projects among others, was targeted at helping the university better position itself for successful utilisation of the intervention funds.
The 7-Man Committee, accompanied by UNILAG BIMC visited the Faculty of Law at the Akoka campus and Faculty of Pharmacy at the Idi-Araba campus of the University.
