The University of Lagos (UNILAG), in partnership with HumanManager Limited, a subsidiary of SystemSpecs Group, on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, organized a special training session to strengthen the employability and professional readiness of students in Employment Relations and Human Resource Management.
Held at Room 14 of the Faculty of Management Sciences, UNILAG, the training equipped students with practical knowledge, digital competencies, and industry-relevant skills required to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving labour market.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Mariam Gbajumo-Sheriff of the Department of Employment Relations and Human Resource Management described the initiative as a strategic intervention sponsored by HumanManager Limited to enhance students’ employability through exposure to contemporary HR practices and technologies.

According to her, the training was designed to complement classroom learning by building technical and analytical skills aligned with international best practices and global standards. She noted that the programme aims to ensure that university certification is supported by practical competencies required for modern HR functions and workplace realities.
In his remarks, Mr. Jerry Adeyeri, Lead, Brand and Marketing, HumanManager Limited, said the company has maintained a tradition of engaging students through practical training that complements academic instruction. According to him, today’s HR professionals must understand not only people management and organisational policies, but also the digital tools that drive modern workplaces.

Mr. Adeyeri emphasised that while academic studies provide a strong theoretical foundation, HumanManager’s goal is to bridge the gap between HR theory and digital practice by giving students hands-on exposure to HR technologies and systems used to manage workforces effectively. He reaffirmed HumanManager’s commitment to developing future talent and advancing the HR profession.
The training session was highly interactive, with students engaging resource persons on technological innovations and emerging trends in HRM.
